For over 40 Years, Mario Maiolo has presented and promoted local, interstate and international musical tours across multiple genres within Australia and beyond.

He has presented multiple headliners and also partnered with other promoters in co-presenting legendary acts such as Bluesman B.B. King, Kenny Rogers, Wilson Pickett, Blondie, Jerry Lewis, KISS, Meat Loaf, The Rock Symphony starring Paul Rogers, Roger Daltrey, Alice Cooper, Dionne Warwick and Peter Frampton, just to mention a few.

He was the instigator behind Andrea Bocelli’s first Australian tour which attracted more than 65,000 patrons, and was partnered with other promoters.

And the national tour of 24 shows with the 60 piece Welsh Treorchy Male Choir was also a successful run. The Choir was so grateful that they posted a daily synopsis of the whole tour on their website saying it was an unforgettable tour and something they will always remember.

Throughout his career, Mario has played a supportive and creative role in musical theatre and concerts with orchestras, turning multiple smaller shows into major draw cards, performing to full houses in prestigious venues all over Australia & New Zealand.

As the promoter, he took Manpower Australia to the famous Stardust Hotel/Casino on the Las Vegas strip for 5 years where Manpower performed up to six shows a week for 2 months at a time. He also staged multiple shows in Los Angeles and Honolulu. And then six years later, returned to the Stardust’s Wayne Newton Theatre to debut Australian Pop Star and TV host, John St Peeters.

He brought Swing back to Australia, first with a show he personally packaged and named, A Celebration of Swing, which performed to sell-out houses in rooms of up to 5,000 capacities.

Mario has mounted bi-annual tours of the all-American Big Band production, IN THE MOOD, with more than 40 dates each run throughout NZ and Australia, which have also been highly successful.

Under Mario’s guidance, the American production of Elvis to the Max grew from playing small 200–500 capacity rooms to venues holding up to 2500 seats, and sold out multiple tours with the first run selling out 85/ 95 shows nationally. In Adelaide alone the it sold out five straight shows to 9,000 people similar numbers were achieved in Perth.

He debuted Australian multi awarded country singer Amber Joy Poulton’s Coal Miner’s Daughter which toured for 2 highly successful years, and has shown full commitment to many other tribute shows.

Mario has created multiple concept concerts – Legends of Rock sold-out 85 percent of a ten-week season of 70 shows and Motown Magic sold out 25 consecutive shows in 1000-3000 seat theatres.

In 2015 and 2018, Mario produced the sell-out Country Gold show, a platform for local talent to share the stage with seasoned Country music artists, saluting global names with a three hour show and a set list of thirty five 100% Gold hits. Country Gold is now a bi-annual concert.

Mario took the Zep Boys, who perform the music of Led Zeppelin, from performing in clubs and hotels to another level with performances accompanied by multiple Symphony orchestras around Australia.

He also nurtured Divine Divas, an Australian Burlesque show, taking them from small hotel shows to Australia’s largest venues such as the famous 2,400-seater Crown Perth Theatre.

For 25 years, Mario was acknowledged as South Australia’s premier Christmas event presenter, staging cabaret dinner shows for up to 12,000 patrons in multiple venues throughout December.

He also presented and promoted one of Australia’s biggest ever boxing events at the iconic Sydney Hordern Pavilion. With multiple title fights on the one bill, he featured Paul Briggs and Glen Kelly headlining for the Ocean Pacific Boxing Federation Light Heavy Weight Title. Mario named the event Judgement Day meaning it was a long-awaited grudge match between the two Australian headliners, Kelly and Briggs.

The complete entertainment package for the 2012 Rock The Boat 2 tour was co-ordinated by Mario and he brought 25 legends, including Chubby Checker and Normie Rowe, to the high seas, with a full cruise riding the waves in an extravaganza of Pop from the 50’s and 60’s.

Mario’s support and guidance in unsurpassed and he has contributed to the success of venues, orchestras and music organisations. He has the ability to look at a show and turn it into a major attraction through what he enjoys most – assisting with creation, marketing and production.
